I have been featured for a blog makeover over at the Blogging Bistro by Laura Christianson. If you are a blogger, I suggest reading this blog for her great tips on many topics on internet presence. You can even submit your blog for a free makeover, or hire her for in-depth consultation.
She had fabulous tips for me and I will be implementing them. In the mean time I could use a little help from my current readers. Why do you come here? What's in it for you? What would like reading here? What do you need from me?
If you have comments or suggestions, do feel free to comment either here or on Laura's blog. If you are chosen for one of Laura's great evaluations, then let me know and I'll come look, too.

Thank you for this info. I've been wanting a new blog look for a while. found a new look but not sure I am completely happy with it, so will check this out. Why do I come here? Because I like you and I enjoy your blog. :)
Blessings,
Karen
hmm, I think i agree with some of her comments, though it sounded like what she wants to help you with is branding. If you're going to do Chip's class, I'd wait to hire her until after that. Also, I don't like the lemon yellow, but that's totally me. :-)
Hi Crystal -
I'll have to pop over there. My blog looks tired.
I agree with Karen. You're an interesting person and so is your blog. Besides, we have so much in common. We're kindred spirits.
I would like to hear more about your writing journey and get a peek at your contest judging experiences.
Blessings,
Susan :)
I know that design and image are important, but I come here because I like reading content that makes me...well want to come back!
I could almost ditto what Susan Reinhardt said about why I come to your blog.
Wow, thanks for the specific comments because if you are spending time here, I do want it to be something you would want.
I come here because I love you and like to see what you're up to! :)
But I will say I'm not really a fan of that shade of yellow either.
I think with your nostalgic look it might be better if it was a more toned down yellow or cream maybe? I don't know, just not that bright yellow. Too harsh. And I love that one picture you use to have of you with the flower from Cara's flower bed. I think it's fun, like you. :)
Oooh, Crystal, I love the changes you're making to your blog design. From your readers' comments, it looks as if they'll appreciate the toned-down color scheme.
Cara commented that my "makeover" review focused largely on branding. That is correct. In many cases, a blog's design doesn't match with the blogger's brand message. Knowing what you want your brand message to be, and then using your blog as a tool to visually promote your brand message is critical. From the questions you asked me when you submitted your blog for review, it appeared that was your challenge. So that's why addressed branding in my review.
Like your readers, I agree that the true strength of your blog is in your writing. Branding and design are easy components to "fix." It's harder to "fix" poor writing. So you definitely have something good going here!
