This is interesting - I am trying to get brave enough to try it out. It's also interesting that your writing style is like Mark Twain's - I would love to see some of your writing sometime to compare. Hint, hint!
I had a teacher one time who compared my poetry to Clement Clarke Moore; or, since the true author of the poem has been disputed, maybe she meant Henry Livingston. Not sure if that was a good thing or not!
This is fun. I was bored yesterday and played around with it. The disappointing part was learning later that supposedly, the program's creator only used 50 authors and so it doesn't give a good rep of your actual work, but IT WAS FUN!
Here's the thing I get from things like this--what style or genre do you write like?
Mark Twain is one of my all-time favorite authors. I've done college papers on him. So, I thought it was funny, that without a conscious effort, that my style has morphed into something similar.
I don't know what to think about your poetry being like Clement Clarke Moore, Jan. Try the test. If you don't like the results, just keep writing and go back and try it again! (LOL)
It said I write like Stephen King. Uh, not sure I like that. That was for a fiction sample. My non fiction sample came up Ian Flemming. I would rather write like Mark Twain or better yet, Liz Curtis Higgs. Oh well, I am what I am. Thanks for the fun link.
Jan C., I don't think they have Liz in the comparison samples, but Stephen King is a good writer and is at least someone who publishes in this time period! Colleen Coble would admire you for that comparison. :)
